It's hard to believe that we are reaching the end of the second of our two largest units in General Music - the Pitch unit. To show their understanding of the concepts we have studied in class, students will be going through a few assignments in the next few classes.
The students are writing their third song of the trimester - this one is written entirely by them individually! The first couple were group compositions. Now they get to use only their own creative ideas. Students are writing 8 measure melodies based on the Pentatonic Scale. We will be performing these in class:
per. 1 - Fri, 5/24
per. 2 - Thurs, 5/30
per. 3 - Mon, 6/3
per. 4 - Fri, 5/24
per. 5 - Fri, 5/31
per. 6 - Wed, 5/29
The students will also turn their Process Folios for a grade and take the Pitch Unit Exam. We will be doing that in class:
per. 1 - Wed, 5/29
per. 2 - Fri, 5/31
per. 3 - Wed, 6/5
per. 4 - Wed, 5/29
per. 5 - Tues, 6/4
per. 6 - Fri, 5/31
