The GMS Chorus is attending the MICCA Festival for the first time ever this year! The Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festival is a state-wide festival that hosts middle school, high school and elementary choirs, orchestras and bands from across MA throughout the weekend of April 4th at multiple locations. Leading adjudicators from across the nation are brought in to listen to and provide feedback to participating ensembles. Algonquin Regional High School
Students should wear concert attire:
- Girls Concert Attire: Black pants or knee-length skirt, black shoes, white 3/4 length sleeve shirt
- Boys Concert Attire: Black pants, black shoes and socks, white dress shirt, long neck tie
Students should bring a bagged dinner (or money to purchase food) or a snack to eat. Students should also bring a water bottle.
Break-down of the afternoon:
- 2:20pm - report to GMS auditorium
- 2:30pm - depart for ARHS on school buses
- 4:00pm - official warm up
- 4:20pm - performance
- 4:40pm - clinic
- 5:00pm - ensemble photograph
- 5:10pm - dinner
- 5:40pm - awards ceremony
- 6:45pm - arrival back at GMS (school buses)
Families should definitely come and support their student and our choir by attending the performance at 4:20pm. General admission tickets can be purchased at the door: $8 adults / $5 students.
